State Committeemen & Women
As set forth by the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) the Republican Party of each county (in Sarasota County it is the RPOSC) will elect one man and one woman to serve in the role of State Committeeman and State Committeewoman from that county. Each candidate will be elected to a 4-year term. During their term of office, they will maintain voter registration as Republican, live in the county, abide by the loyalty oath, discharge their duties, and comply with the state party Constitution and rules of Procedure.
The role and responsibilities of State Committeemen and Committeewomen (among others) is primarily to act as liaison between the State Executive Committee and the County Executive Committee. In the discharging of this role, they will be actively involved in both the local County party as well as the State party, supporting and communicating between the two bodies.
