DUFF SMILEY

Duff demonstrates the highest level of commitment to his country and community. Following graduation from the Air Force Academy, Duff was a pilot with 451 hours of combat flying. He also led 179 security police in the Philippines. Duff retired as Director of Operations commanding approximately 300 aircrew members.

 

At General Motors (GM), he held positions in Quality and Design and led GM’s outreach to disabled veterans. He served five years on GM’s Diversity Council. Duff and his wife raised 23 foster and adopted children, and he advocated for foster children statewide. He was a small business owner.

Duff has worked for Sarasota Republicans for seven years door knocking, fundraising, greeting and monitoring precinct polls, talking at School Board Meetings, and serving as precinct committeeman.
